This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including executive officers, program consultants and program coordinators. Individuals in these roles may posses substantial experience in range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. Conversely, it may also apply to those with little or no vocational experience, but who posses sound theoretical skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.

Academic (preferred): • Certificate IV in Business or Other relevant qualification • Completed Year 10 or overseas equivalent

MODULES

Module 1 - HR Strategy

In this module students will practice the skills and knowledge required to manage all aspects of recruitment selection and induction of new staff (Human Resource Strategy). Students will also learn to develop and implement performance management processes and to coordinate professional development activities to encourage effective employee performance.

Module 2 – Marketing Mix

In this module students will learn the skills and knowledge required to determine the optimum marketing mix for a business through analysis of interrelated marketing components. Students will also plan a market research project by defining market research objectives, identifying data gathering approaches and developing a market research plan.

Module 3 - Marketing Opportunities

In this module students will learn to identify, evaluate and take advantage of marketing opportunities by analysing market data to distinguish characteristics of possible market opportunities and assessing the viability of change to the business operation. Students will also practice the skills required to prepare, document and manage budgets and forecasts.

Module 4 – Project Management

In this module students will be given a real life scenario to practice the skills and knowledge required to undertake a project. The scenario covers developing a project plan, administering, monitoring, finalising and reviewing the project to identify effectiveness and lessons learned. Students will also learn how to manage risks in a range of contexts across an organisation or for a specific business unit or area in any industry setting.
