COURSE DESCRIPTION

Marketing-Certificate IV

The Certificate IV in Marketing and Communications will introduce students to the world of digital marketing. This program will equip enterprising entrepreneurs with the skills required to set up and run a successful online business. Students looking for a career in the corporate sector will receive a solid foundation to successfully apply for entry level positions in the digital marketing and communications industry.

MODULES

Module 1 - New Product Development

Students will conduct market research to source a viable product for an online business. The research conducted will cover a variety of products and suppliers as well as competitors in the market. Your research will identify a potential small business opportunity for you to develop.

Module 2 – Design

Students will also create an advertising brief to cover package design and product images. Students will learn the fundamentals of design. With this knowledge students will then practice designing product packaging, logos, stationary, flyers, e-books.

Module 3 - Traditional Marketing

Students will formulate the marketing plan and  a timetable for promotional material to be launched online. The plan will include keyword search and SEO optimisation strategies. Write promotional copy for a range of promotional activities including video presentations, campaigns, product and price boosts.

Module 4 – Digital Marketing

Students will learn to develop and manage digital marketing strategies and tools to promote their business opportunity online. This module covers the creation and monitoring of a website, social media platforms and blogs. Students will also learn to implement SEO tools and manage google analytics.

Module 5 – Customer Service

This module covers the online sales cycle. Students will manage a customer database. Covers responding to website and buyer online messages. Managing customer complaints, refunds providing product replacements.

Module 6 – Logistics

Students will learn how to manage online relationships with suppliers, managing product forecast as well as shipping and delivery logistics. Students will also manage the payment of suppliers and contractors, negotiating payment terms with suppliers.
